This is one of the few places where you can still find these fearsome-looking, yet gentle lizards. They are really very friendly creatures who welcome visitors bearing gifts of vegetables and other goodies and they will eat from your hand.

Care should be taken when interacting with them, because they are protected by Bahamas law.
