Bahamas Methodist Habitat (BMH) is an Outreach Ministry of the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church. They were born out of Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and started hosting volunteer groups on a regular basis.

Their main focus is sharing God's love in a physical way by providing emergency home repairs for those most in need. BMH has organized many groups of volunteers in response to several hurricanes that have destroyed or damaged homes throughout The Bahamas.

During the summer months, high school and college students, along with skilled persons, come to the island to volunteer their time.

Their primary goal is to work in partnership with the primary and high Schools on community projects, rebuild and repair homes, churches and schools within The Bahamas or the Caribbean, a few of their many accomplishments have been disaster relief, cleanup and home repairs for:

  • Hurricane Andrew - Eleuthera 1992
  • Earthquake - Haiti 2010
  • Hurricane Irene - Acklins Island 2011
  • Hurricane Joaquin - Crooked Island 2015
  • Hurricane Matthew - New Providence 2016
