Ms. Hathe Thompson and Ms. Marion Johnson are said to have held the first Catholic mass on the island in their home, the Little Boarding House, and also influenced the Roman Catholic Bishop to start a church here. Roman Catholics have now celebrated almost 100 years in Harbour Island.
