When visiting Eleuthera, make sure to go "off" the island to experience what it is really like to be a Bahamian. Our most popular tour is called "Da Real Bahamian T'ing." On this tour, you board our boat and experience The Bahamas like a real Bahamian. We take you to the conch beds where you learn how to dive for conch. We teach you how to chop out the conch, giving you a taste of fresh conch salad right there on the boat. If you're brave... try the conch pistol!

Then, we're off for a snorkel on an incredible reef teeming with juvenile fish in just four feet of water. And, finally, you'll learn how to catch reef fish using a hand line (a spool of fishing line with a weight and a hook on it). You're guaranteed to catch something, and if desired we will fillet some of it for you so you can enjoy it for dinner later on. While on this tour, you can enjoy fresh smoked fish sandwiches on homemade herb bread, rum punch, lemonade, and water.

Another popular tour is 'Explore Schooner Cays and the Marker Bars'. This is more of a beach tour.  We take you out to a deserted island surrounded by incredible shallow turquoise waters. We build a fire and serve you fresh-grilled conch, peas and rice, and salad, along with your choice of beverages –
rum punch, lemonade, and water. When the tide is lowest during your adventure, we bring you to the Marker Bars... a group of sandbars that stretch out into the sparkling shallows. Here you can search for sea biscuits and sand dollars that are abundant in the shoals. This tour can also be done "Adam & Eve" style, where we set up the fire on the beach, set up the picnic spot, and then leave you for a few hours for total privacy.

About the Vessel

We have a 26-foot Panga with a center console, hard top, and soft cushioned bench seats. The boat, "Da Reef Dancer" has a new Yamaha 250 engine on it and handles choppy water really well.

Seasons Open and Departure : Year Round, weather permitting. We depart from near Cape Eleuthera (Powell Point) on the southern end of Eleuthera.

Length of Tour: Our tours usually start around 10:30 a.m. and last for about five hours.

Costs and Fees: Visit our website for details.

Appropriate Age Groups: All age groups are welcome.

How to Find the Departure Point

Just past The Island School and before you reach the Cape Eleuthera Marina, there is a small harbour on the right side (seaside). This is our pickup point for all tours, except for the Lighthouse Beach.

Accessibility Notes: This tour is not suitable for persons with mobility impairments or those using a wheelchair.

 Eco-Friendly Notes

We utilize proper dishes, drinking cups, and cloth napkins, so that as little trash is generated as possible.  We also try to grow our own vegetables for our meals whenever possible. Our peas and rice is usually speckled beans and rice, with beans from our own garden. In season, the onions, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin in our grilled conch is also grown by us.

 Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Your tour guide and owner of Eleuthera Tours, Donald Anderson, was born and raised in Eleuthera and has been navigating, diving, and fishing these waters since he was a teenager.

 Pet Friendly Notes

Did you bring Fido on vacation with you?  Feel free to bring him on our tours too.
