Located in Northwest Mayaguana, this quiet beach is perfect for families with children and it is great place to hang out with the locals in the afternoons. You'll see children sitting or splashing in the water, or just hanging out with their parents. It is also the place where older persons take their daily constitutional in the early mornings and late afternoons.

Care should be taken when walking around because some parts have limestone rocks peaking out in the sand.

Recreational Opportunities

This beach is perfect for shelling, sunbathing, strolling and snorkeling in some areas. You are likely to see coral heads, sand dollars, starfish, and a variety of other local species just offshore.

Enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, by arrangement, and a weekly Fish Fry at Mel's on the Bay. Take advantage of the “spa” therapy practiced by Mayaguanians (and other Bahamians); lie down or sit in the salty sea water at least twice a day while meditating, and it will take away any aches. On clear nights, join locals sitting on the sand to watch the sunset, moonrise and the twinkling stars, guaranteed therapy to clear your mind from any stresses of the day. If you time your visit right, you can be part of a unique experience where they light a bonfire on the beach, roasting corn fresh from the field.
