The Salt Pond area has a variety of good beaches. If you are looking for a spot to host a party and go for a swim at the same time, try the Cultural Site where the annual regatta is held. If you would like to spend the night looking up at the stars or watching the waves crash against the cliffs, then try the pathways opposite the Long Island Tourist Office.

One section has a beautiful double bay offering a safe swimming area for children, great scenery while beach walking, good shelling, and some sea glass.

Please note that there are no lifeguards on duty, so you should not venture out too far from the shore if the sea is rough. Also, don't forget to bring sunscreen and a wide brim hat.

Recreational Opportunities

You can enjoy beachcombing, diving, fishing, and snorkeling, and you're likely to catch some of The Bahamas' finest seafood, such as snapper and crawfish. And, occasionally, there is enough wave action for body surfing. You can also pitch a tent and have a camp-out, roasting marshmallows, hot dogs etc.

Seasons Accessible

Year Round

Accessibility Notes

The area is easily accessible by foot (protective shoes are advised), truck, jeep, or van; however, it is not suitable for wheelchairs or persons with mobility impairments.

 Eco-Friendly Notes

There is an extensive cave system in the area, not far from the bays, and it is accessible from a walking path to the west shore.
