Bird flying at Turtle Sound

Often referred to as an inland river, Turtle Sound is the entrance to the most beautiful mangrove-lined creek in the southern Bahamas. It is considered one of the natural wonders of The Bahamas and runs from the eastern end of the French Wells Channel, nine miles inland to just behind the Moss Town and Seaview settlements. It is a natural habitat for marine and bird life, has differing water depths and rolling hills bordering the shoreline. There is an abundance of marine and bird life throughout the waterway.

Recreational Opportunities

The calm shallows make it a perfect setting for all types of water adventures, including kayaking and fly fishing. It is also great for birding.
